1950s WW2 Style Backboards Ftw

Hmm… yeah, we have annual Science Fairs here at JHK. They’re kinda neat but the novelty is wearing off on me a little. :/

So for the Science Fair we (me and Skyler) made a Kelvin water dropper, an ingenious invention by the famous Lord Kelvin. Basically water drops through a can into another can. This water is charged by electrons in the air (better at low humidity) and passes the charge to the can- and the can on the other end of a cord. This attracts water of the same charge, creating a postive reinforcement loop. Eventually the difference between the charge and the charge in the other can become so great that a spark jumps between the copper wire cords connecting the cans. Neat.

But that’s not important. What I really liked doing was making the backboard we displayed our project on. I tried to go with a 1950s WW2 Conspiracy theme, complete with a friendly looking business front and various government-looking sheets regarding the “conspiracy” that is our science project.

Like just about everything I do in school, I squeezed as much creativity out of it as possible. Maybe that’s why I hate math: no freedom.

EDIT: Oh yeah, turns out we won 2nd place for our age group. Cool, right?

SSBB!

Been a little while since I’ve posted.

As I’ve said before, I cannot wait for SSBB (super smash bros brawl). Like I’ve predicted, Olimar from the Pikmin series is in as a playable character! Well, since the game hit Japan, spoilers have been leaked all over the place! The character roster has been confirmed to be 35, and well over 160 remixed songs from other classic video games have been found! One of my favourite tracks is the Unfounded Revenge song from the Mother 3, which never hit NA.

With all of this good news comes bad news. The game was delayed a while ago until March 9. Huge bummer, because it was going to come out the day before my birthday.
